Dragonflight XXIX
What do you do for fun?
Come to our convention, of course! We have tournaments, open gaming, and special gaming events from 1pm Friday Aug 8th to 6pm Sunday Aug 10th. 53 hours of continuous gaming is available! We have RPG, RPGA, Board Gaming, Miniatures, Computer Gaming, Card Games (and some LARPs!), Movies, Auctions (Live and Silent this year). Gaming for all ages 8 and higher, though check with the game master of each event.
Dragonflight has been held for 29 consecutive years, and we have updated the Dragonflight name to let people know that we are the longest running gaming con in the Northwest. We have gone through many changes in the last few years, most notably moving our con to the amazing Hilton Hotel in Bellevue and changing the date of the annual con to the 2nd weekend of August. Through all of this we have maintained our members and have started to grow again. This year I would like to see Dragonflight grow even more!
With this in mind, the board has decided to eliminate the $10 membership fee and just roll it into the price of admission. So, if you pre-register you will automatically be listed as a member of Dragonflight. If you register at the con, you register as a member or attend Dragonflight as a non-member. Note that opting out of the membership does not cost anything more or less at the door.
This year we have even more space than last year. So we want you to put on even more events. If you have never run an event, we are here to help you out. Simply contact the Area Event Coordinator (AEC) for your type of game. If you have a special game you would like to run that does not fit into any of the other categories then contact the Events Manager. Check the volunteer page to see what benefits you get by running a game(s) at the convention. You are also encouraged to volunteer for other things to help out our con. We will have a complete list of volunteer positions available soon.
If you are interested in joining our staff, we are going to provide a shadow program where you accompany a staff member during the con and learn what their position involves before, during and after Dragonflight. Plus we are offering a Con Workshop for staff (May) and volunteers (July). The volunteer workshop will be targeted around the non-game masters, though they are welcome.
